Alongside our full year financial results released to the market, AGL has today released a report outlining the company’s approach to the rehabilitation of its power generation sites and associated infrastructure.
In 2016, we committed to a detailed update on our approach to rehabilitation recognising the increasing need to inform our stakeholders on how we are managing the risks and opportunities associated with rehabilitation and the energy transition.
This report “Rehabilitation: AGL’s approach to rehabilitation of power generation infrastructure” summarises the outcomes of a strategic review of rehabilitation requirements, our understanding of the challenges associated with closing and rehabilitating large, long lived power generation assets and infrastructure and our approach moving forward.
The report outlines a methodology to identify options for the Liddell site post closure, and we look forward to proposals from across the globe for creative alternate site uses.
Today’s report provides a foundation for engagement with our people, communities, investors and policy makers.
