Since moving to 699 Bourke St last year, AGL has reduced the greenhouse gas emissions from electricity used in our Melbourne offices by 50 percent per annum.

It is estimated a similar Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction will occur when North Sydney office makes the move to 200 George Street.

699 Bourke Street is a highly energy efficient workplace (6 Star Green star rated). It boasts a range of impressive sustainability features including:

  • A 90 kW rooftop solar system, the largest solar power system on a commercial office in Melbourne, which generates an estimated 110 MWh per year, avoiding greenhouse gas emissions of around 145 tonnes CO2e.
  • An 80,000 litre rainwater catchment system.
  • An innovative Organic Response lighting system.
  • An ultra-high-performance facade with floor-to-ceiling glazing.

From next financial year, all greenhouse gas emissions from AGL corporate workplaces will be offset through AGL’s Future Forest carbon offsetting scheme.

This is just one more way AGL is embracing transformation and committing to sustainability.
