Diane Smith-Gander to join AGL Board

AGL today announced its intention to appoint Diane Smith-Gander as a Non-Executive Director, and that Bruce Phillips will be retiring from the Board following AGL’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 September 2016.

Ms Smith-Gander will stand for election at the AGM and, subject to approval by AGL’s shareholders, her appointment will take effect immediately thereafter.

Ms Smith-Gander is currently Chairman of infrastructure services company Broadspectrum Limited, a role from which she will retire following its takeover by Ferrovial. She is a Non- Executive Director of diversified conglomerate Wesfarmers Limited. She is also President of Chief Executive Women and Chair of Safe Work Australia.

Her prior board experience includes roles as a Commissioner of Tourism Western Australia, Non-Executive Director of Australia’s largest cooperative, CBH Group, and Deputy Chairman of NBN Co Limited.
