Race organisers have praised AGL's sponsorship of the historic Burrandowan Picnic Races held on Saturday, 14 May 2016, saying it helped to make the event a huge success.
This is the first time AGL has sponsored the charity race meet, which has been running since 1922.
Burrandowan Picnic Race Club secretary, Carolyn Stone, said she was thrilled with the AGL’s donation of $2,000.
“We’re really appreciative of the sponsorship which went towards running the race day. The funds we raised will be donated to RACQ CareFlight, two local schools, the Taabinga Rotary Club and the Kingaroy Lions Club." Mrs Stone said.
AGL Coopers Gap Wind Farm project manager, Neil Cooke, said supporting the work of local organisations within the communities AGL operates is a priority.
