The Clean Energy Regulator recently released their Designated Generation Facilities report for the 2014/15 financial year.
The report details the electricity production and greenhouse gas emissions at each generation facility as reported under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS).
During the year, the 356 facilities generated 223,210 GWh of electricity. As the pie chart below shows, over 88 percent of electricity was generated at thermal (i.e. coal, gas and liquid fuel) power stations.

The top 10 generators in Australia account for almost 80% of all electricity generated - see graph below. Following the acquisition of Macquarie Generation, AGL is the largest generator in Australia. In 2014/15 AGL generated 21% of all electricity reported under NGERS.
