Earlier this morning the Federal Government released the Energy White Paper, focusing on 'increasing competition, energy productivity and investment to deliver reliable and cost competitive energy to households and business'.

The White Paper references AGL research (On the inequity of flat-rate electricity tariffs) showing that 80% of consumers in a hardship program would pay lower charges in the long run under cost-reflective electricity pricing (p16).
