The results of the 2012 annual review of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) were released earlier this month.
AGL remains a constituent of the DJSI World Index. AGL is one of 13 companies selected to be a component of the DJSI World Index for the Electric Utilities sector, out of an eligible universe of 104 companies. No other Australian companies were selected to be a member of the DJSI World in the Electricity sector.
AGL also continues to be a part of the DJSI Asia Pacific Index – one of four companies out of an eligible universe of 18. Origin Energy, CLP Holdings and Power Assets Holdings Ltd are the other constituents.
The DJSI World comprises the leading companies in terms of sustainability around the world. It captures the top 10% based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria out of the biggest 2,500 companies worldwide.
The DJSI Asia Pacific comprises the leading companies in terms of sustainability in Asia Pacific. It captures the top 20% based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria out of the largest 600 companies in the developed countries in Asia Pacific.
